🦉 Some more aspects to remeber
Being the top student won't make you successful, at least not if it's the only trait of your habitus. While a great education is key and a prerequisite for acceptance in most higher-class habitus, an individual must set themselves apart by other habitus traits, such as character, or general socialization. Ultimately, it's the personality with all its characteristics, behaviors, and attitudes that truly matter.
What usualy almost always works is to
- be casual,
- be easy-going,
- be ambitious,
- don't be stiff,
- be honest,
- be adaptive,
- be authentic,
- be sovereign.
🪞 Adopt what you like best
As discussed earlier, it’s up to you what you define as sucessful and what not. By picking out what you lie best from each respective habitus, one can create its own habitus by adopting each habitus best traits.

💡 TAKE AWAYS O KEY TAKE AWAYS
- Habitus is the visible appearance of a person, by which a person’s social rank can be inferred.
- It has a significant impact on life, as certain habitus are more valued by society.
- Bourdieu identified four types of habitus capitals, these pods were further refined to seven.
- Habitus forms through socialization and is influenced by experiences and environment.
- Different situations require different habitus, especially entrepreneurs need to have a special Habitus to succeed.
- Elites and successful individuals possess a distinct habitus, a comparably good education does not necessarily produce the same habitus.
- The upper-class habitus promotes professional success through optimism, responsibility, and sociability.
