💡 Background
As Donald Hambrick already pointed out in 1984, the personal characteristics of top managers have an impact on the organization’s performance. However, it is extremly challenging to collect personal data from top managers through primary collection methods such as surveys. Therefore, this project seeks to collect secondary data from top managers about their personality.
In particular, we want to predict firm financial performance from top managers’ personalities. For analyzing top managers’ personalities, we want to use their astrological star signs as proxy for their personality. We have already collected firm financial performance indicators.
🦾Who We Are
The Chair for Strategy and Organization is focused on research with impact. This means we do not want to repeat old ideas and base our research solely on the research people did 10 years ago. Instead, we currently research topics that will shape the future. Topics such as New Work, Agile Organisations and Digital Disruption, Entrepreneurship and Innovation, Digital Transformation and Diversity, HRTech, Leadership, and Teams. We are always early in noticing trends, technologies, strategies, and organisations that shape the future, which has its ups and downs.
🎯 Goals
Your tasks in this project are:
- Systematically search and analyze scientific literature about astrology and top management (use excel template and ppt template)
- Research exact birth dates of 500 top managers (we already have a list of names)
- Analyze the correlation between star signs and firm financial performance (we already have firm financial performance indicators)
🎓 Profile
- You should have an above average grade report.
- You work exact, reliable, and independent.
- You have an interest in astrology.
