π‘ Background
In the business world, one of the most important parts are developing solutions for business problems, adequately communicating them (sales, marketing), and making sure that what has been sold provides value (product, customer success). While a lot of studies and curricula exist for marketing, sales and customer success is rarely thought in academia. However, especially in the B2B world, where products are more complex, the latter roles are of utmost importance to identify customer pains drive value. In the technology world, especially in the software-as-a-service industry (SaaS) most companies nowadays follow a βself-serviceβ or βproduct-ledβ approach. While the idea and approach make sense, yet in most Enterprise companies traditionally a lot of processes and departments exist, which can make it difficult to forgo business roles in sales and customer success. To make it easier for the business functions a lot of processes can be automized and standardized. Thus, the aim of this project is to develop and execute strategies for the successful implementation of software projects within Enterprise clients. This entails for example, the enablement of users or standardizing consulting as well as communication concepts.

You can find more about us under https://www.retorio.com/about-us-about-retorio
The Chair for Strategy and Organization is focused on research with impact. This means we do not want to repeat old ideas and base our research solely on the research people did 10 years ago. Instead, we currently research topics that will shape the future. Topics such as Agile Organizations and Digital Disruption, Blockchain Technology, Creativity and Innovation, Digital Transformation and Business Model Innovation, Diversity, Education: Education Technology and Performance Management, HRTech, Leadership, and Teams. We are always early in noticing trends, technologies, strategies, and organizations that shape the future, which has its ups and downs.
π― Goals
The main questions that need to be answered can be clustered in 3 topics:
- What are current customer pains and how they are being addressed by a software solution?
- What already exists today to solve those pains?
- What should be added to solve it faster and easier?
Based on those main three topics, the goal is to derive, create, and subsequently implement different strategies along the implementation of a software solution. For example, along customer experience, enablement, and consulting.
Explicit deliverables will include:
- Overview about the status quo of customer pains and the software solution (2-4 weeks)
- Deep-dive about existing approaches (2 weeks)
- Deriving ideas to solve and tackle customer pains (2 weeks)
- Put ideas into practice and create concrete solutions (1-2 months)
- Verify and measure success of the solutions created (1 month)
π Profile
- Ownership: You own things β your success, your responsibilities
- Learning: You create things β not afraid to dump them and iterate new
- Challenge: We solve state-of-the art problems (for society and technological)
To sum it up, youβll be at the forefront of how new technology enables better learning and development within workplaces and supports not only our clients but also end-users (i.e., our clientsβ personnel). With your help, more and more people will get access to individual coaching and can become better and more effective communicators.
