Web3 opportunities are huge and the big corporations do not want to miss out. RTFKT, the web3 startup selling virtual sneakers recently was acquired by Nike https://news.nike.com/news/nike-acquires-rtfkt. Together they will try to leverage cutting-edge innovation to deliver next-generation collectibles that merge culture and gaming. Other brands are approaching the topic differently, for example by buying digital land in metaverses like The Sandbox or Decentraland. Prominent examples include JP Morgan, Samsung, and Adidas. Some also partner with web3 native projects like the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC). But the opportunities go far beyond this. To transition into web3 and to profit from those opportunities new skills and knowledge are required. For this purpose, new employees are necessary - but web3 talent is hard to attract and retain.
